BILL COSBY

I'm singing.....
My object all sublime
I shall achieve in time --
To let the punishment fit the crime,
The punishment fit the crime;
And make each pris'ner 'pent
Unwillingly represent
A source of innocent merriment,
Of innocent merriment!
                             ("Mikado," Gilbert & Sullivan.)

The Cosby Show was truly funny, unique, about now things. The characters rang true. Golly, the way they danced got me dancing with them.

Now, it's big hot news -- Bill took advantage of women, some of them well-known names, and got himself ... wow ... a string of -- lovers? victims?

Yep, cheating on his wife, cheating the laws of the land, he's accused of  having drugged these women -- the women themselves claim that's how he got them in bed with him.

Hey, these aren't puritan times. Golly, there are a lot of "sinful" sexy folks -- male and female. Why are we hell-bent on digging into  famous people?

Here's a secret -- there are still big name, famous, important guys who haven't been exposed yet! How do I know? Because, being the wife of a celeb, I occasionally hear the grim, gross, gossipy truth about other celebrities.

The fact is, even if you happen to be famous, you better start quivering in your boots. Your sinful wrongdoings could ruin what you have spent your life building as an artist.

OPINION:
If you want to warn your children about evil guys like him, just go ahead and state what you are compelled to state about him, but don't destroy him, don't throw the artist Cosby and what he spent his life building, into the dumpster.

There are lots of guys we haven't attacked yet -- Congresspersons, CEO's, leaders, conductors, composers, bankers, brokers -- as well as jailbirds who got caught.

Hey, why aren't we punishing, attacking, destroying the powerful supporters of guns? How come they're untouchables?

I say let Cosby alone.

Remember what the Bible says:

So when they continued asking him,
he lifted up himself, and said unto them,
He that is without sin among you,
let him first cast a stone....

I really enjoyed watching Cosby reruns. It's going to be years before we can see them again, and I will miss them.

Em, I find the whole thing so distasteful. So I just don't want to hear about it any more. Whenever I see an article about it I look the other way. I get it he is a creep. What he did was wrong. I just don't want o hear about it anymore. I read your article because I know you an interesting person that would bring something new to the theme of Cosby. It was a great post as usual. And I like you do love his work. Is our problem more that we glorify celebrities? They are after all only human like the rest of us.
